Stearns Wharf was built by and named for local lumberman John P. Stearns. Black beers were originally the favorite of dockworkers and porters, so for John's namesake we brewed this rich Irish-style dry stout. Traditionally roasty and coffee-like without overpowering bitterness or astringency and full-bodied despite its low alcohol content.
