General Manager

Figueroa Mountain Brewery Bar and Restaurant Arroyo Grande, CA.

Summary/Objective delivers revenues and profits by managing the day to day operations, staff developing, local store marketing, and providing exceptional restaurant environment.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Controls purchases and inventory by following established ordering and inventory procedures; reviewing and evaluating usage reports; analyzing variances; taking corrective actions. Maintain accurate cash controls, deposit records, server and bar checkouts. Ensure payroll accuracy. Completes daily, weekly and monthly paperwork within the timeline set by corporate accounting department.
  • Maintains operations by enforcing policies and standard operating procedures; implementing production, productivity, quality, and patron-service standards; determining and implementing system improvements.
  • Ability to work have exceptional working knowledge of Aloha POS. Able to accurately complete manager level tasks in the POS.
  • Maintains patron satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings; recommending improvements; building relationships with preferred patrons.
  • Accomplishes restaurant and bar human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining management staff; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with health and legal regulations; maintaining security systems.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the restaurant industry; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices. Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Work Environment
This job operates in a full service restaurant and brewery. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels. Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Candidate must  have the ability to work a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including weekends and increased work schedules. Must also have the capability to move safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven, and slick surfaces.

Required Education and Experience

  • 5-10 years of Restaurant Management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management a plus.
  • Acquire and maintain a valid Managers Servsafe certificate
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
